photopanels agent resources page

Welcome,

I am Doug McGarvie and the owner of mugs4coffee

You have arrived at this page because you are considering being an agent with mugs4coffee and marketing my range of photopanels and other products

You have arrived here from my home page or your forum www.twonksrus.co.uk

When Louise of twonksr us contacted me to produce your twonks mugs I had just invested in a new flatbed press for sublimation work. My core business had been coffee mugs and I wanted to offer a wider range of products

I had been to my supplier and saw the range of products available for a flatbed press and was suitably impressed with the photopanels. I saw that they have an appeal and would be good sellers in the Wedding, Children and Pets categories

My only problem was how to market them. The coffee mugs lent themselves to the internet as a medium for selling. I had carried on down this route and never looked back

I knew that the internet was not necessarily the best medium for getting the photopanels to potential customers

The photopanels look superb and I knew that once seen just about everyone would have a favourite photo or photos that they would want on them, providing the price was right

The trick to me was getting people to see them

Once I appreciated that the twonksrus website was directed at mothers of young children - I still don't know too much about your forum site as I'm not a member and your confidentiality rules precludes me from looking, I realised that you were a potential market

But more importantly, not only a potential market but also an ideal group of people who may want to make extra cash by being an agent

I have, within the last 3 days, had agreement to display the photopanels in a hairdresser's salon, a beauty salon and a private school, the school will be offering the photopanels with their normal school photographs ! - it's that simple

I am now researching wedding fairs in my area and intend to exhibit at them - you can do the same

How will being an agent work ?

Quite simply - you have a number of samples of the photopanels and you take them to places where you think you will get orders

This is not a hard sell operation. It is not something where you cold-call organisations

The principle is that you take them with you to places that you go to and feel comfortable in - mother and baby play groups, day nurseries, local schools, friends groups etc.

Having said that - I appreciate that it's not something that will suit everyone

You show the photopanels, you don't sell them - they sell themselves

You will be pleasantly surprised by the interest shown when you introduce them

If you feel able - you can take the samples to other locations where orders are likely to come from - wedding supply shops, shops where young mums with disposable income are likely to go to - 'classy rags' type. This is what I have done and it produces good results

You will probably have a much better idea of places than I do

I have, within the last 7 days, had agreement to display the photopanels in a hairdresser's salon, a beauty salon and a private school - it's that simple

I am now researching wedding fairs in my area and intend to exhibit at them - you can do the same

For you to be here you are aware, from other forum members, that the product is high quality and orders should flow quite well for you.

You need samples of the photopanels to show - talking about them isn't going to get you orders. When people see them they will want to order - provided that the price is right

Where do I get the samples ?

I would love to give you a set of samples to start you off but I'm afraid I can't afford this approach

You will need to purchase a sample or set of sample photopanels from me

You can, if you wish just purchase the one sample to start with, and limit your outlay untill you are happy that you can get orders (that's an outlay of only £25)

A full set of samples includes 5 photo panels, 4 at 20cm x 30cm and 1 at 28cm x 35cm

In the smaller size there will be two samples showing brides, two showing children and one showing a cat or dog

The larger sample is also in the bride category

How much will it cost me ?

The smaller sample photopanels are priced at £20 each, the larger at £35 This is an outlay of £115 plus carriage at cost for the complete set of sample photopanels

If you wish just to have one sample as a start then this will be one of the smaller photopanels at £20 plus carriage at cost

What is my profit margin ?

These photopanels when sold by photographers are being sold for £60 to £95 each

I think that this is too much and work on the principle that it is better to sell more with a lower profit margin

I can't dictate the price that you sell at but I would recommend that you sell the smaller photopanel for £30 plus whatever the carriage has been and the larger one for £55

That will give you a profit of £10 per smaller photopanel and £20 for the larger one

Remember - the photopanels are a superb high quality product. They are modern and able to be wall mounted without the need for frames

They sell themselves

Once someone has bought a photopanel from you they will want to show it to friends and family

Those friends and family will want to have at least one of their photos set onto a photopanel - your sales will go from strength to strength based on word of mouth

If the order is for a photopanel of a child - imagine how many more will be needed - one for Gran (2 of them) and so on. What about the bride ? What about the cat / dog

To sell these photopanels based on samples you need to have the highest quality photos on them

We supply these for you

You can see examples of our sample photographs on this site

You will need to impress on your clients the need for them to supply you with a quality photo for their photopanel to be as good as your sample

They will need to provide you with a high resolution digital photo. This will require the camera having been set to 'best photo'

Should they have a digital copy of a professionaly taken photo then this will probably look much better than most amateur photos

We can scan photographs but these will not be as good quality as a digital image

What will be my area ?

I am looking to have 50 agents covering the UK

There will only be the one agent in a particular geographic area

I am looking for an area to be at least a 25 mile radius from your home address. It may be a particuar area, such as the Isle of Wight, Torquay, Manchester etc - giving you ample scope

Any questions ? contact me

Interested in taking the next step ?

Contact me and we can make the arrangements

What else do you have ?

Apart from my core business of personalised coffee mugs I can supply personalised place mats, coasters, mouse mats, jigsaws, Tshirts, aprons, bags etc etc

How does it work ?

Once you have your order and payment you send me the photo as a digital image

Most images should be able to be sent as a jpg file attachment with your email

If it is a particuarly large file you may need to send it to me on a CD

Once I have the artwork and payment I will place the image onto the photopanel and send it back to you

I would anticipate that all items will be sent out within 4 working days

Payment in advance is required as it cuts down problems and ensures cashflow
